What should I expect in my first group yoga class?

New classes can be intimidating! Here are a couple of tips to give you an idea of what to expect when you come to your first yoga class:

  • Try to arrive at least 10 minutes ahead of class so you will have enough time to fill out waivers and get settled into your spot.
  • Wear comfortable clothes that you can move around in easily.
  • Bring your own yoga mat (if you don’t have one, notify the instructor and a mat will be provided)
  • Unless otherwise specified, group classes will be a gentle vinyasa style yoga format. Classes are all-level and perfect for those just beginning their yoga journey.
  • Relax and have fun! Yoga is not about getting into every pose. Yoga is about listening to and honoring how you feel.
